A riverside campground shaped by the Columbia

Nestled along the Columbia River just north of Nine Mile Falls, our recreation area offers a rare combination of accessibility and solitude. Whether you arrive by tent, RV, or canoe, the landscape here invites you to slow down.

The campground sits among mature ponderosa pines and Douglas firs, with sites that range from shaded forest pockets to open river-view lawns. It is a place where morning fog lifts off the water and evening comes quietly, marked only by the call of loons.

Columbia River Fishing

Steelhead, salmon, and sturgeon draw anglers from across the region. Cast from the shore, a drift boat, or a small skiff — the river delivers consistently.

Hiking & Trail Access

Forest Service trails wind through old-growth stands and along ridgeline overlooks. Easy riverside strolls and more demanding backcountry routes both start nearby.

Wildlife & Birding

Bald eagles patrol the river corridor, osprey nest in snagged pines, and river otters are commonly seen. A quiet morning with binoculars is unforgettable.

Kayaking & Paddling

Rent a kayak or bring your own — the Columbia's calm stretches near Nine Mile Falls are ideal for a leisurely paddle and wildlife viewing.

Campfire Evenings

Gather around the fire pit with a good book and the sound of river water. Star visibility here is exceptional — far from city lights.
